WE ARE ARTISTS-ENGRAVERS ALEXANDER AND SERGEY KARNAUKHOV.

   Since 2000 we are mastering engraving self dependent for 20 years. For this time huge experience have accumulated, collecting information on this interesting and at the same time complicated craft.

      We ourselves had to learn the basics of engraving, the physical properties of metals, and their heat treatment. Independently make engraving tools, starting with the gravers and driller and ending with muffle furnaces and electronic controllers for them. Step by step through trial and mistakes, on this way was everything: from frustration and despair from failure, to happiness and inspiration from small successes.

Today, it is rather difficult to find an engraver perfectly mastering the art of manual engraving with the help of graver tools. As the character of one well-known movie correctly remarked: “This work requires self-denial”.

     At the certain stage of our work it became obvious – we need art education. Classes in the studio of academic design have filled this gap in knowledge, and for more than ten years we have been engaged in fine arts in a small home workshop, making numerous sketches from nature and plaster casts. This only helps to increase the level of our skills. Due to this, artistic modeling of plasticine and clay became available, work on portraits, where straight eye and strong anatomical knowledge are simply needed. The acquired skills help us also to master such an interesting artistic direction as painting. We are mastering painting in free time from work.
